What We Take & What We Don’t Take
Legacy Dumpster's Acceptable and Prohibited Items
At Legacy Dumpster, we strive to meet all your waste removal needs while adhering to environmental guidelines and regulations. This page outlines what items we can take in our dumpsters and which are prohibited.
Prohibited Items and Materials

Why Are Some Items Allowed & Others Not?
Certain items are prohibited due to environmental regulations and landfill restrictions. Hazardous materials can pose risks to the environment and human health, requiring specialized disposal methods beyond the scope of standard dumpster rental services.
10 Yard - 40 yard Dumpsters:
For our 10 yard, 15 yard, 20 yard, 30 yard and 40 Yard Dumpsters, the following items are prohibited:
- Concrete/Brick (Use our 6 or 12 yard concrete dumpster for this)
- Dirt (Use our 6 or 12 yard concrete dumpster for this)
- Gravel/Rock (Use our 6 or 12 yard concrete dumpster for this)
- Liquid Paint
- Oil/Grease/Liquids
- Hazardous Waste
- Chemicals
- Sewage or Liquids
- Metal or Plastic Drums/Barrels
- Batteries
Placing prohibited items in your dumpster may result in a fee of $150 per prohibited item

Items with Additional Fees:
- Mattresses & Box Springs: $25 fee each
- Tires: $10 per tire (Extra $10 per tire if it has a rim)
- Items with Freon (such as refrigerators or A/C units): $100 per each
PLEASE NOTE: These items are charged double if loaded in a dumpster designated with construction debris, yard debris, or any other non-organic waste. The reason for this is because the landfill where these loads are disposed charge double rate also.
How to Ensure Compliance
To avoid non-compliance fees, sort your waste before disposal carefully. Ensure that hazardous or prohibited items are not placed in the dumpsters. If in doubt,
contact us for guidance on proper disposal methods.
